If you're interested in learning more we host a Knife Makers Meets (or two) annually, we have a facebook group for sharing work and we supply blacksmithing/knife making equipment including forges, anvils, hammers and tong.
Our personal working ranges from high end damascus steel kitchen knives to sculptural work, it can be purchased directly through our website or our local stockists.

An adventure to Himeji Castle!
Our first visit to Himeji Castle, 🏯 and what an incredible fortress.
known as Hakuro-jō or Shirasagi-jō ("White Egret Castle" or "White Heron Castle") because of its brilliant white exterior and represents a bird in flight.
Built in 1333 taking only 9 years to build the castle and the expansion later built in 1617
it's stood for over 700 years

Excelente maestro!!!👍👍👍
Thanks very much 😊
I'm about to buy one exactly like yours, except it has no motor mount on it. At which RPM does the motor run, and how many kilowatts?
Hey there I'm In New Zealand the motor specs are 3.7 kw 3 phase 400v, motor running approximately 980 rpm, I believe it's a 6 pole motor, I hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to ask
@@StackhouseKnives Awesome, thank you so much! I have one more question as of now actually. Under the brass ring/clutch-linkage is a plate with mounting holes for something that might function as a brake pad or something. Do you know if there's supposed to be a piece of wood there or something else?
Hey yes there's a block of wood that's the brake, you could make them from wood or rubber
@@StackhouseKnives Thanks for your answers!

Can not wait to see the knife and hear more about the course
Thanks very much, I'll be attempting to drop a video per day to talk about the course
@@StackhouseKnives enjoy your holiday. All the editing can be done on the flight home
Definitely a good way to utilise flight time
Enjoyed your segment on straight razor making could you make a straight razor for my self out of a old file if I sent you the pattern. Thank you
Hey mate, feel free to email me your enquiry with a picture/pattern, and I'll see what I can do stackhouseknives@gmail.com
That ending tho..... Fuuuuuuuiii
Hahaha yup, the big sad
@@StackhouseKnives When I saw the Coal press come out in the second to last shot I was thinking "oh no" as it looked like some flux dripping off the billet and then ... that final shot was heartbreaking.
@@Tincad4 I'm going to make the conclusion it was trapped abrasives because I did the re weld 5 times
Noooo😢
To be continued..
beautiful!!! and the last welding looks really dificult! greatings from czech republic
Hello, and thanks, it Definitely tricky getting those last welds to take i did have 16 pieces of steel to join, maybe a little ambitious haha
😮Ouch

remember that wavy sword from fable lost chapters? that could be a cool project
That is a cool sword, definitely an interesting build
beautiful bro. did you ever play any of the warhammer 40k games? reminds me of something a chaos marine would carry
The only thing I remember with Warhammer was helping a friend paint those figurines, some many little details 😅
it's your boffice
Thats the one
Love that!!
Thanks dude, she's a big one
is it hard to work. What temperature? im playing with some too.
You've got to work that steel hot, otherwise it can splinter if you forge things to cold
blows my mind how you get a pattern like that.
Thankyou
Why was everyone so far back? Haha
No idea, maybe no one trusted me with the hot piece of steel
8:24 Nice!
Eats steel for breakfast 😂
Omg harry potter hahah Where is the bolt thunder?!
🤣
Badass😮
Thanks
Thats a fancy one. Beautiful
Thankyou there will be many more of this shape 😊
That looks sweet. what are the stats on that knife?
It should be on the website soon enough

Awesome
Thanks very much
Nice information session👍
Much appreciated
Had mine for a year now and tonight was the first time I used your method, fantastic and a lot safer more stable. I had my DC4 in a custom build wooden support block to prevent the knife slipping but now with your method it is a lot safer.
That's such a good Idea, with the block I should give that a shot
Nice one mate. They look great.
Thanks so much
Need to show it compared to a standard flat bevel for comparison😊
Great idea
you got a new sub
Thankyou so much
Thanks mate cheers Rob
Thankyou
Great video, thank you. If only the paperwork that came with the DC4 told you anywhere near this information it would have been helpful
I'm not sure if they come with the same set of instructions, I bought more but haven't received them
I will be coming to see you soon for a class.
They need to make a cc4 in 8inch. Would be great!
Definitely
how much is that?
Not for sale , sorry
Woah that looks like hard work great job
Its great fun
I was going to use a power tool on my blade, Glad I watched this first, Thanks!
I’ve not seen your entire video yet but need to ask how long have yours lasted? Heard from others on YT that they don’t last very long.
My still cuts after many years
Arent they going to get rusty for being in contact with skin?
I put gold liners on the inside of them now and also make them from stainless steel
Good job brom
Thankyou
Really cool. Good job
Thanks
I'd like to see a Green Lantern or Flash inspired ring.
Definitely could be fun
@@StackhouseKnives do you take commissions?
Hi
Hi 😊
Why is your subscribe button null ?
I'm not sure what you mean
Cool knife. Informative video. Question. Could you please explain why you didn't wet the stone?
These stones don't need to be wet to use them , they work well dry or wet
I know that this video is some years old. May I ask how the ceramic side performs after all that time? It is said that when new the ceramic is quite coarse but gets much finer when used (after a break-in period). How fine does it get? Any idea how the grit compares to a waterstone?
The ceramic surface has held up very well and kind just clogged up, it still cuts well though
I must have missed these comments
@@StackhouseKnives Thank you. Although the scratch pattern looks quite coarse the edge seems to be much finer than expected. Just my thoughts.
@@schnitzschlumpf4095 I think they are very much based on how much pressure you put down as you are sharpening

Thanks
That turned out beautiful
Thanks

Biutiful Kukri my frend 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thank you for this! Been looking for a commented oroshigane making video as I have a pile of cut offs from making knives that I didn't want to throw 🤞
You definitely should give it a go
